Holiday Gift Shopping -- 2025 edition

One of our favorite shops is closing…so we went to the sale. In addition to the loveseat we bought, we got some left handed wooden spoons for holiday gifts. We have given them in the past and the recipients loved them.

What’s a left handed wooden spoon? I think I’d like some.

I am left handed and never heard of a left handed wooden spoon (assuming the shape is just reversed) but I don’t know that I’ve had any difficulty using a “right” handed wooden spoon!

I’m a lefty too so always curious about left handed items. Never had trouble with wooden spoons but always interested.

Here you go. You can check this site and switch from left to right handed…and you can see the angle difference. Both my husband and daughter say this is way better than the generic wooden spoon.

Another thing you might check with the cord you had that didn’t retract. If I just pull one and it won’t retract - you have to pull both

Did that pic load? Not showing on my end, weird

Nope. Did not load.

Just found out that Lululemon has special college collections! Ordered some stuff for my Huskies.

I found this by looking at the University Bookstore site.

ETA: here is the list of schools!

Pics are not loading @CC_Sorin

So not just mine? I wondered why mine wouldn’t load

A few other posters have noted this issue. @tamagotchi @oldfort for example.

@tamagotchi already started a thread under forum updates and issues.

Perhaps others can chime in there.

We asked our kids to hold off on buying us any rice cooker until they have deluxe ones that have NO nonstick coating. Since CA has a ban coming on nonstick coatings, I think these rice cookers will be debuting soon and that’s what we want. We already have several that have nonstick coatings as well as an instant pot that can cook rice in its stainless sleep liner.

Just an FYI - the bill was vetoed, so you might be waiting quite a bit longer.

Are you looking for ceramic inner pot and fuzzy logic? I know Yum Asia has some like that.

No—I want stainless steel—no nonstick and no ceramic which is often sone nonstick finish. I don’t trust nonstick.

If you search on “Non toxic rice cooker” on Amazon, a couple of things pop up. I don’t know if they are any good, but your posts caught my eye as we are always trying to avoid Teflon and other coatings, which can be toxic to our birds. We have mostly succeeded, but our rice cooker is a Toshiba, which my Japanese husband lovingly carried with him from Tokyo, along with a transformer that takes up a shocking amount of counter space. It’s probably OK, as the nonstick coatings are generally not a problem unless they overheat and that seems relatively unlikely with a rice cooker.
