Holiday Gift Shopping -- 2025 edition

I have several people who I don’t know what to buy for and often get them a gift card but I was at Costco and saw a bottle of Veuve Champagne with a cute “Happy Holidays” ice jacket. So I got 4 of those and crossed 4 off my list.

Any new suggestions for food related holiday gifts to ship out to people (before it gets too late!). Something other than the typical (Costco, wolfermans, etc)

We love gifting Vosges chocolates. They are local to us and their chocolates are like works of art.

Updating this because SIL hauled the box up from the basement to the dining room and they have been trying a wine most nights when D1 isn’t working. Each bottle is 6 oz, so a half glass each.

Some hits and one miss so far (an Italian wine that was a dessert wine similar to port–they aren’t port fans). Interesting selections from all over the world.

Grandkids are loving the Magnatiles advent calendar so far.

We have been pleased with Hale Groves baskets of citrus, or you can get citrus and treats. My inlaws are supposed to have limited diets so this is a good fit. I’ve sent stuff from the typical places (and received it) and never thought the quality was very good. Hale had a fairly decent range of prices.

In this day and age, you can also look for a local place to deliver directly.

Never heard of this company - their gift boxes are very nice!

Yes, Hales are wonderful. Our next door neighbors moved to Vero Beach, Fla., where Hales is based, and sent us baskets every year. Then my parents also moved to Vero Beach, so we used to visit Hales in person when our kids were small. Their marmalades and honeys are also very nice - they had bee hives on the property. Sometimes we don’t realize these companies that ship all over are actually real places in their own towns. Anyway, I recommend!

I’ve sent an assortment of Jeni’s ice creams to someone who adores ice cream and eats it every day. (Side note, she is 93 years old and healthy!)

We’ve definitely done Jeni’s before. It’s an Ohio based company so we were early adopters!

Fifteen years and going strong, it’s a monster but we have a big family.

Thank you for the Hale’s recommendation. I just send a package and am SO happy to have that off my to-do list!

Prices to me are very reasonable. The shipping is always a killer but it is an 8 lb package and it will arrive before the holidays so….ok! Here is what I ordered:

That looks like a nice assortment.

The posts about chocolates and wine have me thinking about chocolate liqueurs.
