Holiday Shopping 2024

They were already numbered. I guess the smaller ones are closer to 3".

Oh! These are so cute! Take a look people, if you’re so inclined these leave the door open to inserting about anything!

For some reason I was picturing like plain brown little boxes - not Christmas boxes - very fun!

If you had a little person to make an advent calendar for these would be adorable in little boxes!

That was me with the Penzy’s sample spices with the reusable advent box.

I’ve done special candies and inexpensive jewelry in the past.

Ornaments?

Oh, I like this! Little ones! Could give a small tabletop tree and add an ornament each day!

Jelly bellies are also very small and other favorite candies. Get tiny bags to put them in.

I got one of these for H just because… but I liked it so much, I think I’m going to get younger S and GF two for Xmas. They are moving from GF’s family home to an apartment in a different city. So I’m planning to get them each one of their family dogs. They each have a favorite.

This week I received a notice that the Hulu deal I got last year for $1/mo was going to switch automatically to $9.99 if I didn’t cancel, so as a PSA if you bought subscriptions last Black Friday, cancel them or (literally) pay the price.

Other than that, I don’t think I’ve done any Christmas shopping.

Yes, I have calendared to cancel Hulu & Disney+ in Nov before the deal ends.

I paused during months I wasn’t using, so I still have 8 months left on my Hulu at $0.99/month. The account section mentions that my discount increased from $7 off to $9 off, with the recent price increase, so I can continue at $0.99/month in 2025. However, I did cancel Peacock Black Friday deal long ago. My Peacock subscription ends on Nov 23rd.

You don’t need to mark the date on a calendar. Hulu and typical other streaming services do not immediately terminate your membership when you cancel. Instead the cancel is more of a non-renewal. After canceling, you can continue using your account until the next renewal date at which time your account is not renewed. If you cancel today, you can continue using until Black Friday (or whatever day you started the 12 month deal).

I had the $.99 Hulu with a $2.00 Disney+ add on. Was advised that the add on was ending and that they were switching me to the Disney Bundle Duo plan with ads for $6.99. That is acceptable for now.

Thanks for the helpful nudge. I just canceled and was notified that I can still watch whatever I want until 11/28, as my $2.99 was already collected. I’ve only watched very little of Hulu and Disney+. Still have a little bit of time to watch a bit more. Maybe I will try to see some more before 11/28. We shall see.

We bought our laptop on Black Friday weekend 3 years ago. It just broke…right before Black Friday weekend. I’m thinking it was designed that way. Well…it’s a good time to buy. Maybe I’ll get a Macbook this time.

Saw this today and might as well ā€œrefresh/reviveā€ this thread.

Momofuku product bundles on sale:

Nice gifts for people who don’t need ā€œstuffā€ - or busy people who like delicious food/condiments for quick meals.

If you bought your laptop at Costco, it is probably still under warranty.

Got an ad from Amazon yesterday about deals and stocking stuffers. I hope the 75" tv was a deal and not a stocking stuffer as my stockings are not that big.
