Based on what my cats do to their sisal scratch posts, sisal is not a very durable material. 
I’d buy a thin outdoor type rug at Costco. We have one under the firetable on our covered patio, and it weathered very well. 8 years and counting.

Ikea also has some durable type rugs like @BunsenBurner mentioned.
We’ve had this Safavieh jute rug under our dining room table for ten years (six with cat), no issues at all. We love the look and feel.

I agree. It was a bit of a pain a few years ago when CC upgraded, but it’s been fun to have photos in posts.
