Home school to Public HS advice

Hello all!

I’ve been home (cyber) schooled from the 6th grade all the way to my junior year in high school. I’m completing my last year of high school (senior year) at a public HS and I’m really nervous about it since the world of cyber school completely differs from the world of public HS. What are some important tips/pieces of advice that I should know before I start school?

Watch Mean Girls…lol

Just try to make a close-knit group of friends and stay out of trouble. It really isn’t that bad.

Hi there! I’ve been cyber home-schooled as well. Last year, I switched to public high school but then went back to cyber school (Not to make you nervous or anything, it was because of a health problem!) So yes, it was a little difficult and confusing at first, like navigating the hallways and working with students in “real life”. My tip would be to stay calm and be friendly to everyone! It can be nerve-wracking, but smiling at people and just being yourself really helps. Also try your best in classes, answer/ask questions when needed, and keep in touch with your guidance counselor!

haha, I’ve seen mean girls … hopefully hs isn’t like that irl

@hannahvyvy thank you, thank you, thank you! feel like this is stuff I had already tried to tell myself but it feels better hearing it from someone who has had that experience.
