Honors program..when do we find out

When and how do we find out what honors program we have been accepted to? I think I read that we should know by March 1st but I have not heard anything

thanks

You find out with your acceptance to the college when you log into your account on the UMD website.

I have already been accepted to University and honors program. I selected the order of the honors program that I want to be involved with but I have not been told which one I will be in. I put Gemstone as my first pick but dont know if I got into it. How do I find out what program they put me…

Ohh right sorry I read it wrong. The answer to your question I do not know. I’m guessing most everybody will get in where they put the most points.

I heard they were supposed to be e-mailed today, but I’m not sure. They say in early March.

I was at the interviews for the BK scholarship today and one of the speakers said that you can check somewhere online for which program you were put into, but I can’t find it.

For incoming honors students, A/C may be in your future!!!

Told by Honors Program they are behind and you will send an email

^Actually they might lose A/C. Denton is getting A/C in the fall, but now that they’re moving Honors the Honors dorm still might not have it (I think they’re looking to move it to Hagerstown, which doesn’t have A/C). That was why there was even an issue in whether to move Honors from Denton, since Denton is getting A/C and the Denton community is getting it’s own dining hall and convenience store.

Either way it’s not a big deal with not having A/C. I’m in Denton now and you survive it. And in the Ellicott Community you’ll have a dining hall right there and can walk to the one in Denton Community for a change. It’s a 2-minute walk, I do it every day.

Yes…a warning for everyone, this stuff can always change. The article suggests that many will move to Ellicott. I do agree that no a/c is certainly survivable…both mine went through it for the first year (and lived to tell about it), but sure have enjoyed the a/c since then!!!

@33dmjjm–any idea when?

They just said soon…

oh ok. also, i found out that for people that wanted to get into ILS, you had to have taken AP Bio

wonder if there criteria for other programs…

No, ILS is the only program with a prerequisite.

According to Prof. Dorland (director of the Honors College), for honors students who have not taken AP bio, there will be the possibility of lateral entry into ILS sophomore year if they take biology in their first year.

Just got an email welcoming me to digital cultures. So check your email!

@Sockcreature, congrats. Do you DCC people get iPads this year?

got the e-mail as well. accepted to my first choice, honors humanities! DCC people get ipads, but my friend told me that supposedly all people in honors get either iphones or itouches.

I’m pretty sure that only the Banneker/Key recipients get iphones/itouches, not all honors students. Unless they’ve changed something for this coming year (and come across a boatload of money).

I got DCC too! And I know for a fact that we get iPads.
