I just finished watching this movie. It’s a documentary and it’s AMAZING.

It was made in 1994, though they started filming in 1989, I believe.

It follows two teenagers (start out as 8th graders) from inner-city Chicago who have dreams of playing in the NBA. On the surface it might sound simple, but it deals with themes of poverty, class struggle, familial issues, race, dreams, hope, redemption, adversity, and much more. There are many poignant moments–but to describe them would only partially ruin them for later.

I HIGHLY recommend seeing this movie. It is a perspective-altering and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

And to people who have seen it, what do you think (without saying spoilers!)?
