Hoping to be future Nurse please help me

Hi!

I am 17, and will be a senior this year. I am starting to look at colleges. I want to be a registered nurse and then later do the extra schooling to become a midwife. I am the first in my family to go to college, and I’m not sure where to start… I get so confused looking at schools and degrees. I know to become an RN, I need a bachelor of science, so would that be my major? Whats my minor? I get lost when things start to say BSN, RN TO BSN, LPN ect. I want a college that I can stay at til I am finished. Im okay with going somewhere else for a midwife program but want to stay at one college for my registered nursing. Thank you!!! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Kate.

Many in-state school programs provide RN degrees, even some community colleges and it would save you a lot of debt. I’d start by looking at your public in-state Us and colleges. It helps to have a good math and science background, as well as people skills and be able to write. With increasing electronic health records, it is useful to be able to do data input as well.
