<p>Hi, I am applying for Grade 10 and I got placed on the Hotchkiss waitlist, and I imagine I am one of the weaker links on it. I am a full pay student. I live in France but I am American. I had 85% SSAT (private level and 99% national, do you guys use the national or private school level?). I am good at sports, I am in Boy Scouts, and I am in MUN. I have several “connected” people writing recommendations for me such as my coach. And several current students that I know are writing letters for me? Will these letters help. I have also written a sizable letter showing my continued interest in Hotchkiss. What else can I send to show how much I want to go there? I will do anything to go and I must outshine the other wait list students any way I can? Any Ideas on how to do this? How many students are on the waitlist for Grade 10, how many were accepted? Did they over-accept sudents? How soon should I send in my essay and call hotchkiss to talk to them if I should at all?</p>
<p>Private level is the one that’s used, so 85%. Probably don’t call them up but you should send a letter whenever - even now is good, before April 10th. They might look at the waitlist after April 10th and see who expressed interest. They don’t want to call someone up and not be sure about if they want to go there or not, though you obviously have the offer to say no.</p>
