Hotels in B-Town

Are there any hotels to avoid? Anyone stay at the Holiday Inn Express? It was the only hotel available , is it ok? I wanted the Hilton Garden Inn but it was booked. Thanks.

Actually, Holiday Inn Express is the #1 rated hotel in Bloomington on tripadvisor.com. Here’s the link:

Most of the reviews are good.

A few to avoid: Southern Winds, Econolodge, Ranchero/Econ something hotel, Scot’s Inn,–all are pretty nasty and/or have a lot of visits by the local police. I’ve recently heard the Travelodge is dirty, but I stayed there about 8 years ago, and it was fine. I know people that have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and said it was pretty nice.

If this stay is for move-in day or a similarly busy time, I would be thrilled to have found a room.

we just did a campus visit and stayed at the holiday inn express . it was fine. very pleasant staff, very clean , i would definitely stay there again

Indiana Memorial Union is right on campus and it’s very nice.
