Housing application

My son will be in school at 9 am tomorrow, and wants me to submit his applcation. Does anyone know if they ask personal questions (ie…study habits, cleanliness, personal preferences) on the application, and if so what they ask?

Good question! I’ll be submitting my daughter’s, as well.

They ask you for your housing choices and if you smoke. It’s not personality oriented at all; so I think you would be fine filling it out.

They compile all the applications at the end of the day. Doesn’t matter if you apply that morning or night.

Oh, good—I hope that means if a student does NOT want to be in a dorm room with a smoker, they’ll honor his or her wishes. Nothing worse (IMO) than stale smoke on people’s clothes and hair permeating the room.

Is smoking allowed anywhere in the dorms?

No. But, if someone smokes OUTSIDE in the designated areas, they always bring it back with them....clothing, hair, breath, etc. I have a relative who smokes and if she visits, I feel like I need to carry a can of room spray with me. I guess I'm just less tolerant in my old age. :) And this is from someone who grew up in the '50s and '60s with parents who smoked. Thankfully they quit over 35 years ago.

Me too. However, it killed both of my parents so I have no tolerance whatsoever.

I’m right there with you—no tolerance. I’m sorry about your parents, gotpeter. :(

So sorry gotpeter. My son has asthma (under control) and he can’t stand the smell. I definitely hope his roommates don’t smoke anything!

On the agreement papers, specifically on payment section, it asks for On-Line Payment Confirmation #.

Is that the same number as the receipt number for the $823 payment?

Thanks

yeeaa it is : )

alright thanks. =). Whoo!I’m so stoked.

I noticed you paid $823. Did you pay with a credit card and is the $23 the service fee? I went with the eCheck, so it was $800. First time I’ve used eCheck.

^^^^^Yup. $800 was the original housing deposit and $23 was the service fee. I’m not too familiar with this whole eCheck system yet. Heh. I’ll try to get used to it soon.

It was a piece of cake! Just give them the routing and account number of the checking acct. you intend to use. Of course, if they had taken Visa and they didn’t CHARGE a fee, I would have used a credit card. But it happens we have a college account set up with this chkg. account. No WAY would I have had $800 in our regular, household account at this time of the month!
