Housing @ UCI

stay! welcome week is the most fun.

i heard you can pay for housing through your financial aid? like when DEFT puts the extra money to your bank account, but when does the extra financial aid usually get to the bank account? i only see it as credits on my zotbill. Thanks for helping!

Maybe a non-homophobic friend will help you carry it.

pandaxl0

That’s a loaded question. But maybe a non-homophobic student would help carry it, if you ask nicely.

Question: If you’re living in VDC, what’s the fastest way to get to the ARC or AV? (I know about the night shuttle but the 25 min. wait seems a little long…)

Never mind. I figured out you can cross the soccer field.

I have a question for those of you in VDC… is the electricity allowance $100 per apartment or per person in the apartment?

can transfer students stay in dorms?

For Winter transfer students, how long will it take before we hear back about housing?

What is the difference in pricing for vdc and norte assuming that there are 3 people in a 3 room 2 bath apartment?

Which do you think is better ?

Has any winter transfers heard anything from housing yet? All I’ve received was an email saying that there might be a few spots open in the Residence Hall for female students, but that’s it.

I got waitlisted for VDC.

Does anyone know the chances of getting in? Or what information you would need to figure that out?

Or historically, how many people have made it in on the waitlist?

Thanks

@ckings86, I believe it is per apartment.

VDC is full limky… sorry. If you’re a third year, try Camino del Sol or Puerta del Sol. They just opened and third/fourth years have priority. Be warned that Puerta del Sol is expensive but Camino del Sol is a really good deal.

could you tell me about the Transfer and International Village themed housing in Arroya Vista? I’m interested in both, but I don’t know which one I want to stay in if I get accepted to UCI.

HI,
I’m looking for a male undergraduate to replace my contract for 2011-2012 school year (Sept -Sept)
The rate is $723/month (utilities included).
It’s a beautiful housing that is next to the UCI Campus and UCI’s recreation center.

I am going to live with my parents but I have signed the contract already. So I earnestly need a male graduate to replace my lease.

Please contact mvong@uci.edu if you are interested in…
Thanks a lot

Ok, here’s the thing. I’ll be living in an apartment close by to UCI. How’s the whole off-campus experience? Am I missing out on the whole “college experience”? Please give me pros and cons. Much appreciated :)

…and i’m an incoming freshman. Any suggestions for which apartment is best for a 2 bedroom (within a reasonable price). Thanks :D

Mary, you really shouldn’t. You make a lot of your friends on campus your first year

You want a 2 bedroom apt, shared rooms I’m assuming?

Your choices are the UTC apartments (stanford court, dartmouth, etc.) they are walking distance from UCI, rates should be ranging from 1750-2000/mo.

Or, you can choose a bit farther off-campus, many choose to live at Park West, there is a shuttle that comes every 30 min. that takes you to UCI and back. Rates are a bit cheaper, and the rooms are more spacious than the UTC rooms. Rates range from 1550-1675/mo.

Parking is terrible at Park West btw.
