How are international students evaluated in Ivy League schools.

Well the reason I ask this is as my SAT wasn’t so hot and I dont have time to resit them. This was my first attempt at it and I got 1700 on it (not good I know) and I applied to Yale and Princeton. it is a shot in the dark i know.

I wanted to know how would international students be evaluated overall. Are SAT the norm or are other factors also considered.

All applicants are evaluated hollistically. However. I haven’t heard of anyone’s being admitted with such a low score. The average applicant has an SAT score of ~2250 – competition for international students is more intense.

Ivy League – and other top – colleges will look at your A Levels (which should normally be A*AA) or the IB, GCSEs, extracurriculars, national or international awards, teacher recommendations, etc.

You should have also taken SAT II Subject Tests, in which almost all successful applicants have a score of 740 or above. All Ivy League schools use the Academic Index (AI) to rank applicants: [Academic Index3 - College Confidential](http://www.collegeconfidential.com/academic_index3.htm)

You can re-sit the SAT in Jan.
