Hello everyone. My questions is: Are international students viewed in the context of their school/country/region or are they all just put into one big pile? Are they competing with all other internationals or just the ones from their area? I’ve heard that they are put into one big pile and I’ve also heard some people complaining about competition from their area which would mean that they are viewed in the context of their area. So which is it? Thanks in advance for responding :)

Each college/university has its own way of dealing with international applicants. If you want to know how any one specific college or university handles its international applicants, it is OK for you to contact the admissions office and ask.

Thank you :)

China,
India,
All other internationals

Those are the three piles

We divide the world up into a few different regions - South East Asia, China, India, Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, and so on. And then, even within that, we committee each country discretely. And Happymomof1 is right, each school does it differently, and you can always ask.

Thank you :)

Hey Dan how is financial aid at Tufts for internationals currently? When I applied they only funded a maximum of your tuition. Has it changed?

Unsure of when you applied, but as long as I’ve been at Tufts, we’ve met full demonstrated need for all our admitted international students, aggregating tuition, room, board, living expenses, and books into one cost.
