How can I boost my curriculum?

<p>Hello everyone.
I am from Italian and currently enrolled in an Italian hs. We do not have anything that may give me leadership competencies so I was wondering if anyone from Italy or anywhere else could give me any tips on activities that would look well on my resumé. I was thinking about joining the NSHSS but is it worth paying $60? I can become an ambassador and this will better improve my resumé!! Let me know please :slight_smile: thanks in advance </p>

NSHSS is a “legal scam”. It means NOTHING in your app. </p>

<p>Just take the most rigorous courses, do your best in extracurriculars. ANY “honors society” or whatnot OUTSIDE the school that wants you to pay money for “membership” is useless.</p>

<p>Also, do you have good credentials that are good enough for Ivy league? for example, do you have 2200+ SAT, unweighted GPA 3.8+, significant achievements? Or do you have one or two big accomplishments that are stellar enough to trump other lacking points??</p>

<p>My school is Italian so we don’t have GPAs. I am at a 32+ score on the ACT, I do have some significant accomplishments such as in-school Math Olympiad, ancient Greek awards and stuff. In addition, since I want to major in Finance, can I mention the fact that I am an eBay entrepreneur and investor? Plus, I can pay full-tuition or like 80% of it. But I’ve seen on some colleges websites that admissions are need-blind for international students too (apart from Columbia & Stanford). Let me know! </p>

<p>in school Math Olympiad won’t matter much unless it’s like national/international level(Heck, any in school awards aren’t that much worth for the top schools. Sorry but that’s the unofficial truth). What’s your school grade??</p>

<p>I attend the 4th year out of 5 - I am an American junior. Actually our school system is anti-meritocratic. I was given those awards because I was the only one interested. Btw, I am attending some leadership seminars this summer (Yale Young Global Scholar & ND Leadership) - those would help. Should I mention the fact that I am an eBay entrepreneur and investor?</p>
