During sophomore year I was really lazy. I got a C in English because I didn’t do the summer work, a C in Geometry because I didn’t know the material, and a C in History because my stupid teacher gave me a zero on my term paper for it being an hour late. I might be getting a C in biology and French if I don’t do the finals well. I’m in honors classes for my main subjects. I have an issue with handing in work on time and procrastinate. How can I get back on track? How can I overcome this for college admissions and scholarships? Please answer and give advice. I don’t know what to do! My grades are ruined!

Well, the obvious answer would be to do well in your future classes!

A couple C’s aren’t the end of the world. They certainly aren’t too favorable, but I wouldn’t say your grades are ruined. Just continue to do the best you can can and you’ll be alright. :)

Do the work. Stop thinking that you are entitled to good grades, because it looks like you think you can get good grades without working hard. Other people get straight As because they work their tails off, and if you don’t, then you really don’t deserve it. You get the grades you deserve. If it really means that much to you, then you will start trying a lot harder.

There isn’t really much you can do about your grades for college admission besides trying to get straight A’s for the rest of highschool. Even then, your GPA will probably be lower than you would like so also make sure you do well on SAT/ACT and have solid extracurriculars.

Take yourself and your work seriously. You can’t change what already happened, so instead learn from this and work harder. There’s no other way than to work really hard. Your grades aren’t ruined, and it will be much better if you start putting in more effort. You’ll be fine. :)
