I am about to explode. Mds and dil just called at midnight to say…she is pregnant!!! OMG, I am dying, crying, laughing, jumping. This will be our first grandchild. I am just in disbelief. I am stunned. They sounded soooooo happy.

I look forward to feeling ecstatic about it someday in the future (my daughter is only a freshman in college right now).

Congrats @VaBluebird!!! It’s so exciting isn’t it??? Our DD1 and her husband are due with out first grandchild in 4 weeks- a little boy. I think this is as exciting as when we were expecting her and her twin brother 30+ years ago!!! I went crazy buying clothes once we found out it’s a boy. I can’t wait!!!

How did I feel? like the best thing in the world ever happened. I still remember that day we heard about the fist, but it’s been just as great with every one. It is even better than having your own kids. I have three with one on the way. Oldest is just over 2. Savor every minute and enjoy it. I am also the luckiest grandma in the world because two live very close by and I get to see them almost every day.

I am baby nuts, I get itchy palms thinking about getting my hands on a baby! The newer, the better ;
My older son just turned 25 and is in a very serious relationship with a wonderful young woman who he plans to marry so there is hope of a baby in the future ( we think they will prob get engaged this year). She is also baby nuts, so it is adorable to see her fawn over my son’s baby pictures when they are visiting. Of course, this makes me love her even more!

Grandbabies are the best! I have one and I can’t believe how much I envy people with lots. I was never baby crazy but I am really enjoying this stage. Congrats!!!

H and I have one grandchild, now six months old, and IMO grandparenting comes with all the joys of parenting, but none of the work. It’s a great arrangement – enjoy! A special additional joy to me has been seeing how my H delights in being a grandparent, much more than he had expected. He says it is like experiencing the world anew through the grandchild.

As of the day after Christmas, I am officially an empty-nester (for good, hopefully). I am thrilled that both of my kids are launched, but there is a certain hole in my heart … I think that it’s there to be filled by grandkids someday! It won’t be any time soon for me, but I know it will happen. And I am so looking forward to it.

My baby brother (18 years younger than me!) and his fiance just had a baby girl the end of October so I am loving having a new niece. My Mom has great grandchildren older than her new youngest granddaughter and my 21 year old D who was the youngest grandchild now has a new baby cousin. We are all enjoying this precious little one!
Congratulations!! Being a grandma is the best thing ever. I remember how very thrilled we were with the news and actually being a grandparent is even better once they actually arrive. We are so lucky to have ours live close by so we see them a couple of times a week. It’s lovely being a part of their lives. You are in for such a treat!
