<p>How did you meet your current boyfriend/ girlfriend? Who had the nerve to escalate first?
Do you think it’s better to ask “do you want to be my girlfriend/ boyfriend?” or take them on dates first?</p>
<p>take them on dates “you want to be my girlfriend” sounds naive to me</p>
<p>I started dating my current boyfriend the summer going into our sophomore year and we are seniors now. We had been friends for a while before that, so I guess we started hanging out alone more and going on “dates” and he eventually asked me out.</p>
<p>After hanging out with him/her for awhile, the best thing to do is to say, “what do you think of us?” Worked for me at least. I met my girlfriend through cross country.</p>

<p>…online. haha. We met on a debate website when I was barely thirteen and everyone was being dorky, so he asked me to marry him. I said no. 
We became best friends for a while, and after a yearish, he just one night told me that he really liked me. And I said that I really liked him. And that…was that.
Over a year, and he’s still mine!
[and I’ve like…seen and touched him and stuff. :P]</p>

<p>Calc class isn’t exactly the most conducive to igniting relationships though. </p>
<p>We eventually just became more physical and friends with (some) benefits 
he knows I still like him though…jerk.</p>
<p>Honors chem sophomore year i thought my current bf was an annoying jerk who sat next to me and wouldn’t stop poking me, causing the teacher to give us the evil glare. I also thought he was kinda creepy, being indian… ( no racism! don’t be insulted it was just him who was creepy).
Then I went out with his best friend for a bit, we realized it didn’t work, so we just stayed friends (best friends… like we headlock each other every time we meet…) Current boyfriend helped set us up (later confessed he was really depressed about it but was still determined to help his buddy)
Now, current boyfriend became a good friend by beginning of junior year. Helped me with AP chem labs and homework 
He also stopped pokin me because I got really mad and was ready to cry.</p>
<p>Then he asked me to junior prom, and we started chatting more online. One day I realized there was always “ily” somewhere in his emails and i thought it was a typo. So i asked him about it and he was like “uh nvm”, but eventually he told me and we started going out the day we made nitrogen triodide bombs in AP Chem ;)</p>
<p>I owe chem for everything :)</p>
<p>^Blatantly pointing out that his ethnicity directly correlated with his creepiness but then totally debunking that for racism seems pretty shortsighted.</p>
<p>But congrats on finding a special someone in an educational setting.</p>
