How difficult is the piano audition?

<p>I’ve only been taking piano for a few months, and my sight reading is still pretty awful. From what I’ve heard, the piano portion of the audition is just for placement, but I still want to seem at least as a somewhat competent player. What is the difficulty of the piece(s) they give to us to play?</p>

<p>I haven’t been through the audition this year yet, but I asked them twice because I was really worried. Both times, they said:

  1. Two or Three Scales (w/ both hands)
  2. A couple nursery rhyme (sight-reading) </p>
