How do you dress at the end of the day before PJ's?

^^^wrong thread. I meant to post at the “packed too much for dorm thread.” Maybe a mod can delete it or move it.

First of all, I sweat when I exercise. I used to think I wasn’t much of a sweater but I was so wrong. ;). So after I exercise I need to change, I can’t stand to stay in those clothes, they are very uncomfortable.

Anyways, I love clothes. I love looking nice. My H probably doesn’t notice, but I don’t care. It’s not about him.

My pj’s match. My comfort clothes match. And my nice stuff matches.

deb922, my GYN told me that many issues for woman could be avoided by changing underwear immediately
after exercising. Often there is gardening or other sweat inducing activities and so no shower and no change for
hours. Also, only cotton to work out in.
NOT! that you brought this up! but good entry to offer this information.

" Also, only cotton to work out in."

Cotton is a kiss of death for exercise!! It wicks moisture away from the skin but it does not let it evaporate. You will be so much better off in tech fabric that dries in a few seconds.

I agree with you actually. I like wicking unders. That said I have followed her advice and if changed immediately they do seem good. However, if I am hiking and out for hours I choose wicking.
I see her next month so will discuss this with her.

Several years ago we rafted down the Grand Canyon on a week long trip. It was glorious, but personal hygiene became a very open topic. One of the rafters on our trip was a Gyn from here in Texas. She said that the best thing you could do was take scissors to our undies and remove that “absorbent” cotton panel.

Seems like this thread needs a guy perspective

I change the minute I get in the house. T-shirt and shorts for summer , jeans and hoodie in the winter, similar combinations in the spring/fall as appropriate.

Shorts are typically clean on Monday and by Friday might be able to walk themselves to the laundry

“Seems like this thread needs a guy perspective .”

I asked Mr. B who is sitting across the table from me (Friday night drinks at a local watering hole to celebrate the last 90 degree day of the year). His reply? The fewer the clothes the better. So, guys like their gals to go commando/nekkid.

Those Soma dresses that look like dresses but feel like pj’s might do…

Business clothes off and workout clothes on-- but no workout, just lots of machine-washable stretchiness.

I exercise immediately after I get up in the morning, so I wear my day clothing until I get ready for bed. Almost everything I wear is machine washable and not overly confining. I wear an apron most of the time to protect my clothes, however, and I usually wear my mom’s hand-me-down fake Croc slippers because they are the most comfortable thing for my fussy feet. If I forget or get lazy and wear real shoes for hours and hours it often means I can’t sleep later due to pain.

@CCsiteObsessed Wow, that sounds tough. Sorry to hear that. How about barefoot, which is the way I am whenever I am home?

doschicos, I have very little padding on the bottom of my feet. Little Mermaid, anyone? Thus, barefoot is the most painful thing, ever. Plus, I don’t wall to wall carpeting or much in the way of rugs. But Crocs are soft on the bottom and don’t bind at all. They are just ugly as sin.

@CCsiteObsessed - check out Oofos. 100 times better than Crocs and not as ugly.

Oofos just came out with clogs. They also have slides. Really comfortable.

I bought mine on zuilly, they’ve had them occasionally.

I had to look up Oofos. They look really comfortable. Thanks for the hint.

I’ve had the Oofos clogs for several years. I wear them with socks all winter.

I almost bought the cutest Soma night shirt…but it was not cotton…it was some kind of polyester…and while it felt fine, I don’t like sleeping in plastic.

aaarrgh! Ew! I can’t even :).

Cotton as “breathable” is very 20th century. It holds moisture, and moisture breeds bacteria/fungus. I mentioned far upthread that I sleep naked-this is not to be sexy, it’s to be healthy. Plus, I found that I actually stay a LOT warmer in the winter if I’m under the covers with nothing on. It’s completely the opposite of what would seem to make sense, but I am distinctly warmer under the covers without pj’s.

The new underarmour stuff is really amazingly breathable-I can’t believe how fast I am dry after a workout with it-it literally just evaporates off of me, usually by the time I get home it’s dry (but still gross, lol).

We call you “yoga poseurs” but not in a mean way. More of a bless your heart way

It’s funny you mention aprons. I have apron issues. I’m taking a ceramics class right now and having a low-key battle with the ceramics teacher over her (what I consider to be) overly strict policy-no jewelry, short nails, close-toed shoes, and aprons. So far the only one I’m obeying is the closed toed shoes one. I recognize the apron one is reasonable, but my MIL used to give me an apron every year for Christmas while throwing shade at the idea of stay-at-home moms in general, so I really loathed those aprons and the suggestion she was making (I’ve actually heard her use the term kitchen b*tch). At some point I may explain to the professor why I prefer to have clay stuck all over my t shirt rather than wear an apron.

Yeah, I can’t do aprons. I’d rather throw on an older shirt.
