Considering that the SAT is 10% skill and 90% attitude, how do you get pumped? When I got 2320 last May, I didn’t do much to get pumped. But for the Oct. test, I ran 5 miles to get super-pumped. However, I still missed an easy question in each section due to short lapses of focus …AND I didn’t finish my concluding sentence for my essay, so that test was a disaster. So for November, how can I get SERIOUSLY SUPER PUMPED for a 2400? I’m willing to try anything EXCEPT studying…studying ruins my winning mentality.

you really don’t need to take the SAT again because a 2320 is high enough for any college that you want to go to. But to get pumped, you should watch a great movie or listen to music that psyches you up

Right, because HYP doesn’t reject circa 75% of their applicants with that score.

Lol. If you’re making careless mistakes then you’re too pumped, and need to get less pumped. When you’re in that scoring range, speed isn’t really that much of a factor. Better to go a bit slower than you think and avoid making those careless errors.

ChoklitRain,
Why are you going for 2400? Go for 2390 looks so much cooler and rarer :)

You, my friend, are insane.

You mean insanely pumped, right? And why am I going for 2400? Because I’m capable of it and I want
to show 100% of my capabilities.

No, just insane.

That’s the thing choklitrain, you’re not capable of a 2400 you buffoon.

lol, I couldn’t sleep the night before both of my SATs, but the funny thing is the morning of the most recent one - I cut my losses at 4 pm and decided to pump myself up. I jogged for 10 minutes, did a few practice problems to warm up the brain and drank 2 cups of strong tea. I then got uber psyched and took a power poop in the bathroom (lasted 5 seconds no joke) and then proceeded into the coldest shower ever, lasting roughly 15 minutes. Needless to say I was pretty awake during the test without the use of energy drinks.

Tea = energy drink.

^Nope, energy drink = bad, tea = good.
Seriously, I drank 2 energy drinks to try and wake myself up on my first SAT (felt like I was going to die afterwards).

codered - I looked at the June results and you didn’t break 2000! I got a 2080 in 8th grade practically by accident. However, I won’t call you a buffoon because I’m kind.

Hahaha, I was just messing with you man. Trying to get you pumped by telling you that you suck.

its alright, i just dont think thats a good way to get pumped. i think hearing people doubt me would create self-doubt and in turn less confidence

^Lift Weights to add some meat to that cross country runner frame.
Best way to get pumped :D

no way. my light frame gives me the fuel-efficiency to pwn noobs on the track and xc course. and if im
not pwning noobs then im not pumped.

^I will never understand you long distance fanatics…
Go consume all your fuel reserves (glucose, fat, protein)!!!

Go eat a box of tissues fatty.

lol.
I don’t run. I don’t exercise. Yet, I lose weight if I don’t overeat…

damn you metabolism.

I lol’ed. OP, I can think of a million better things to do on a perfectly good Saturday morning. The difference between your score and 2400 is basically nothing.
