How do you guys get to/from ECs?

Johnson:
yeah my district has 10 elementary schools, 1 huge middle school (over 3000 kids and 5 different “wings”; 3 gyms, 3 cafeterias, etc.etc.), and 2 highschools

I just checked any my h.s. is just about 5-6 miles from me.

anyways, I guess I’m going to have to try harder to get people to give me rides

our school has late busses that drop us off from school at either 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. Otherwise people either carpool, have their own car, try to walk home, or bike.

We have no late busses at my school. Actually, we don’t really have busses at all. And, yes, I live in New York. ;)

The only busses my school provides are for some of the ESL students, and for the troubled kids. I’m a good student who speaks English, so busses aren’t available to me.

As for walking/running/taking my bike, I live about three miles from the school with a very paranoid mother. To have me walk three miles by myself would give her a heart attack. No-no for me.

Guys, it’s “buses.” Sorry, it was bugging me :)

relax

its’ a forum

;) hahahaha I feel evil against her.

Hah, I knew that didn’t look right. Spelling is not my strong point. :p

■■■■■ I was going to comment on that and then decided last minute that I’d live. haha.

lmao. I guess I’m guilty of that. Looked funny when I wrote it… I was just too lazy to check.

propose to your school to offer after school bus transportation. Our Student Government proposed it a couple years back and now we have 4-5 buses that offer late transportation. Only downside is that the bus rides can be long (1-2hrs) since the driver drops off each person at his/her house.

Wow, why is it so hard for some of you to comprehend the fact that there are lots of kids out there who have 0 transportation whatsoever for extracurriculars, too far to walk/bike (in my case, 20 miles to, 20 miles back. Enjoy ;)), and have no public transportation?

It’s not that hard. Not everyone is blessed with the same opportunities everyone else has. Some of use have to work a hell lot harder than others to get to a few ECs.

my mom drives me or i get rides with friends

Then you didn’t pick ECs very well, do you? Perhaps try something you actually have access to.

Exactly. There is a solution for almost every situation. :)

“Then you didn’t pick ECs very well, do you? Perhaps try something you actually have access to.”

Wow. What an callous thing to say.

That was just ■■■■■■■■… I’m sorry, but it just was.

Everything is in the city in my area, I’ve checked numerous times on the net, the yellow pages, friends, everywhere. Everything is in the city.

Please, people with rides, don’t even compare your situation with those of us who aren’t as lucky.

So what the hell are you posting for? We can’t find ECs that you will have access to. If you are scared to break a sweat and get their on your own power, or feel you can’t, then that sucks for you. But there’s no need to be whining on here.

Yeah I’m sure you have it so horrible.

You have a roof over your head, you have food to eat, you obviously have access to a computer and the internet.

But you can’t get access to EC’s. boo freaking hoo. Be happy for what you do have and find a solution. It does exist you just have to be willing to look for it.

Precisely. Thank you so much.

You’re welcome. :)

carpoolness is <3
