How do you like it here?

Hey.

Well first off, what made you want to come to this school? And secondly, how much are you enjoying it? Elaborate about that in terms of athletics, campus, clubs, curriculum, academics, food, social life, city life, things to do, student body, professors, financial help, everything else, etc.
From your overall experience at this university, rate how much you like it on a scale from 1-10.

With 10 being the best experience, I would say 20.

UVa is the BEST UNDERGRADUATE UNIVERSITY IN THE COUNTRY.

I choose UVa (out of state) over Duke and Hopkins initially because of financial aid - but I should have choosen it because it is the best in all the categories you listed above - except maybe food in the Dining Halls :)

Choose Virginia!

If you’re a conservative person, I would say UVA is a good fit for you. Over the past months, as a first-year, I have encountered discrimination both in race and sexuality each once. Generally, people are nice. But there are always *******s around anywhere.

Haha, are you implying that conservatism implies a lack of tolerance? Because I know plenty of liberal-minded folks who are less than tolerant.

i’d say 9, very nice university, amazing experience man!

i chose to come here because of it’s awesome undergraduate business and economics programs, and the campus beauty, and the hotness of the girls.

in terms of athletics,
the day we beat FSU was one of the coolest days in my life. 65,000 crazy wahoos fans rushing the field…it doesnt get better. we have the best lacross teams…our soccer teams (both men’s and women’s) are top ranked…

campus,
Our campus is named as one of the three man-made “world-heritage sites” in US by United Nation (liberty bell in philly is one of the others). the most beautiful and historically-significant campus in US i’d say. the cornerstone of the first building was laid in the hands of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and James Monroe. the Rotunda, the lawn…gorgous man…all the architectures are Jeffersonian, with the exception of two gothic structures.

clubs,
everything’s got a club

curriculum,
managable

academics,
world class liberal arts education. excellent reputation in other subject areas…

food,
cafeteria food is soso, the restaurants in the “corner” are awesome. Charlottesville has the most restaurants per capita in US.

social life
amazing parties. if u dont party, there;re non-drinking activities all the time as well

city life,
downtown is very nice…hookah bar, tea house…theaters. lots of bands come to play as well. this year, Rolling Stones, Pixies, Jason Mraz…etc have come to perform.

things to do,
many

student body
mostly rich, friendly, smart, mostly tolerant

, professors
excellent. i;m taking a 20 person seminar on Black and White in the 60’s by Julian Bond next semester (he;s the chairman of NAACP). lots of very knowledgeable professors.

financial help

accesS UVA just came out 1 year ago. it sure is improving.
