How does ASU support its >80000 students?

I’m quite interested in knowing this. Does ASU have the capability to give on-campus housing for each of its students, or is it depending on those off-campus too? Its endowment is also $628 million, something that doesn’t correspond to the amount of scholarships given to each student too and the other costs at the university (utilities, construction, etc.). I know that my home state university has about 43,000 and it is okay, but double that? That’s insane.

@BeCambridge - There are around 50,000 undergraduates on the Tempe campus, with another 17,000 on the other three campuses: Downtown, West, and Polytechnic. There are dorms on each campus and freshman housing is guaranteed.

There are another 16,000 graduate students.
