How does Facebook search Groups for keywords?

I notice that when I search for “X” on Facebook (where X may be, for example, a person’s name), the search results include GROUPS that include the same or similar words as I searched for, either in the group’s title or else in its description. Recently, I created a group that had a certain combination of words (let’s say “Y”) in the group’s description (but not in its title), which I thought might cause the group to show up as a result in a search for Y.

However, I created this group a few days ago, and the search result does not return this group when I search for Y, despite Y being in the group’s description. I would ideally like for a search of Y to return the group as a search result.

I was wondering why this is the case and what a possible resolution may be. Does Facebook only search groups’ descriptions periodically (meaning it might only be indexed on Facebook’s next periodic search, whenever that may be)? Does it only search groups’ descriptions for groups with a certain number of members or a certain amount of activity? I hope some of the more Facebook-savvy users here could enlighten me.

Thanks for the help; I really appreciate it.

^ lol was that sarcasm or did someone delete their post?

Facebook has a funky search function. It’s hard to make the group title pop up with the search.

I’m not looking for the group title to pop up. In fact, the group title pops up fine with a search. It’s specific text in the group description that, if searched, should ideally yield the group as a search result. This feature is on Facebook; it just hasn’t occurred for my group yet and I was wondering why that is.

i’m looking to do the same thing for a company page, have you had any luck so far?
