All the rooms were taken by the time I got to sign up, so I have asked the housing guy to assign me a single. So hopefully that works out. I genuinely will be happy with anything, but I was actually getting pretty excited about newberry.

As of 230 this afternoon, there was literally NOTHING for males, except for a few rooms on North. Luckily for me, I nabbed the last EQ single!!

Yeah, my roommate got the last EQ double. I was really afraid we’d both end up in Newberry, that would have been hell. XD Now I have no idea where I’ll end up. I mentioned when I emailed the housing person that I had really been hoping for newberry or cambridge, but of course I would be grateful for anything. Hopefully he gets back to me soon with good news.

What do people do who don’t have a health reason to get a room assignment do when there are no rooms left? The University seems to be encouraging upperclassmen to live in campus housing, and then when they want to, they get shut out. Not good.

I have no idea, I am so glad that you encouraged me to seek out the disability route or I’d have been screwed.

I’m so glad you ran with the ball, I admire how you are working toward your goals and surmounting whatever obstacles come your way.

So there were no rooms left at all, singles doubles or triples on campus? Guess it was good that I just signed a lease somewhere :)

twisted, what time was your slot? i had a very late time to sign up today as I am only a freshman and i was PRAYING for a single… I ended up in Barbour/Newberry, and there were also 3 spots open in EQ but I didnt want 2 live there

there are still a ton of triples and quads available cuzz most people don’t really end up going for that i guess. I think there might be a few doubles in the central/hill area.

i hope you find somewhere to live! i can’t believe there were NO singles left, what are people in that situations supposed to do, since they didnt plan for a roommate? that is awful, im sorry!

My spot was 2pm, I wanted to get into newberry/barbour but it was full by then. There aren’t any doubles in central/hill left.

I am going to be a senior next year, this is obnoxious. XD

They found me a single in Newberry with a private bathroom, so I actually got the best of both worlds between my two top choices in Cambridge and Newberry. I am so happy I am seriously going to cry. Thank goodness, next year is going to be a much better year than this one.

I am so happy for you, Twisted! That is definitely the best situation for you, la di da, your own bathroom. Of course, every silver lining has a cloud… I think you have to clean the bathroom yourself.

I’d much rather clean it myself, that way I’ll know for sure it’s been cleaned. XD We changed custodians midyear and I am not sure how I feel about this new one.

I found out today that I got an interview for the Michigan in Washington program, so it may be a whole year before I actually get to live there. It figures!

Congrats on your interview. But does that complicate the housing situation? Will they let you out of the contract for your Washington semester?

I asked someone with the program and they said it would be fine, that is a detail I would have to figure out with housing before I agree to go. I’m not sure if I want to. It’s obviously a great opportunity, but I would be sacrificing a lot to go that semester-- my only fall semester as a continuing student, my president position in the student org I started this semester-- which may be too young to stand on its own and may die without me here, and half of what is left of my college time. I think if I am chosen, if it works out logistically I will go, but it won’t be easy to leave.
