How does one respond to "Explain when you made a difference in someone's life"

The question is:
“Describe an incident where you made a difference in someone’s life.”

This is to be under my description when people are voting for Junior Class President. I know that this an entirely subjective question that depends on the person answering it, but I am stumped by this as I usually am stumped by broad questions and I am sure I am not the only one (most people do not have an answer to such a question readily available).

I know that, at some point in my life, I have made a difference in someone’s life, due to the large amount of years I’ve existed. However, I cannot extract any of those incidents from my memory banks, and I can’t think of any community-service type responses.

Anyone have any ideas, or any ways to spark my memory such as categories of answers to this type of question?

Thanks.

I think you’re trying a little hard for something as insignificant as junior class president, haha. But, anyway, I hate these types of questions too, because I also can never think of an answer. I s’pose think about who’s really close to you, and ask yourself if you’ve ever done them any really big favors. Like, helped them through a problem in their life, stuff like that.

“I make a difference in people’s lives all the time. By merely looking at me, they realize it is possible to be a magnificent, flawless, and perfect individual as I am and thus they strive to be the best they can be.”

This is followed by the crushing realization that they’ll never be as divine as me, and subsequently results in staggering depression and a mental eruption.

Ok - some serious feedback. It doesn’t have to be about saving someone, literally. Just find a small moment in time - when you helped someone, a friend or not, who needed a helping hand. You tutored someone to pass a test, talked someone out of a bad decision, consoled someone, etc. Helped a sibling, or neighbor. Take one moment, and express it in your voice.

^Hey I gave serious feedback! :P

I believe every single action changes everyone’s life in one way or another.

^ Maybe, but you can’t really say that on the application without looking like you are either arrogant or avoiding the question.

To help you brainstorm ideas, think about times when someone made a difference in YOUR life, and then think about if you have done the same thing. For example, my when my D was 5 or 6 she always felt so proud when the older teenagers on her karate team praised her. Now that she is an older teenager, she is sure to do the same to the new little kids. It’s not a big deal - it’s just a moment of kindness.
