how does this sound?

Hi guys…
I am an International student on a gap year studying pollution in an industrial unit.
I have the following SAT and Toefl scores
SAT-
CR-580
Math-640
Writing-640
therefore a total of 1860.

SAT 2-
Biology E-690
Math level 1-630

Toefl-113/120

I play squash at college and county level

I have also done a lot of community service for which I have certificates.

Please tell me whether I stand a chance for the following universities.
Carnegie Mellon University-HSS- Early Decision 2
New York University
University of Virginia
University of Michigan
Boston University
University of Southern California
Indiana University

Thanx for the responses!

Do you need fin aid?

I dont need financial aid.

BU (Boston Uni) looks good in that case…

Do you plan on retaking the SAT? Also, what was your performance in high school/grammar school?

I did the british A-levels where I scored in my first year
Math-B
Biology-B
Business-A

In the second year I scored

Math-B
Biology-B
Business-B

hey guys please can we have some more responses

try to get your SAT scores up. as you are not looking for aid i think you have a decent shot at all the schools on your list. agree with tetris fan BU does look like a good shot for you.

Hey man, I also applied to Carnegie Mellon ed2 to H&SS and will be applying to NYU and Boston University. From what I’ve seen, now I’m not 100% for international, but it seems to me CMU and NYU will be tough to get into with those SATs but BU will be a match. And also do you know when people get their CMU ED II decisions back?

My A Level results are,

E Lit A
Hist B
Music B

I think my A’s are comparative to yours. I hear colleges look at your a level results in lieu of a GPA.

I applied to NYU last year with SAT I scores in about the same range, 700-something SAT IIs and more ECs. Rejected.

Try to get the CR up. I’d honestly only consider applying to those universities if I got my scores up to 680-700.

SInce you are not going to be competing for extremely limited fin aid for international students, you have a good chance of getting into the colleges you mentioned.
