<p>I’m entering my 8th semester at UVA but wish to spend 1 more semester in addition to the upcoming one. The reason being is to take extra economics/math classes to improve my marketability in the job market. I feel like I have gone 4 years (actually 3 since first year I was an engineering student) without adequately planning above the basic requirements for my major. I would have liked to take more statistics and a course on linear algebra as well as real analysis.
Who should I contact for extra academic time?</p>
<p>I also wish to take econometrics, but unless I complete linear algebra, econometrics will be impossible to understand.</p>

<p>FYI (and I’m post grad right now) employers like to see you continue education beyond just college. Have you thought about trying to just take post-grad classes? Linear algebra isn’t difficult to find, and you could start taking that and say to employers “I’m really dedicated to taking a few more classes”</p>
<p>But, a little secret here: employers know that young grads like us can only fit so much schooling in. I’d say 90% of jobs you learn on-the-job. I know it’s scary, but I think you’ll do fine if you’re this dedicated
