How far away is your test center?

Hey guyjs,
just wondering hence my test center is 130 miles away, can I get away without taking the sat with the explanation that it’s too far away?

Unless the school is test optional, you can’t. Most of the schools international students are most interested in are not test optional.

Without the SAT/ACT, schools that require them won’t even look at your application, considering it incomplete.

If the college is not test-optional, no.

That is doubtful. I would take the test.

Standardized tests are the only way colleges have to compare applicants head to head. Grading policies and course content varies a lot by high school. The tests are a way to compare on a common measure.

As much as I would hate driving that far, I would still take it.

Scroll down to “testing closer to home”.

200km isn’t that far - especially not in Germany, where you can just hop onto a train the day before and spend a night in a youth hostel close to the test center. If you were living in a larger country (think China or Russia), you might have to fly to the nearest test center. Consider yourself lucky!
