<p>So I’m not exactly the king of EC’s, in fact I really don’t even have any EC’s.</p>
<p>Anyways, I was basically drafted by my friend (Who is class president) to be an officer of the Class of 2016 fundraising committee for all class activities and funds. So apparently I’m an Officer for that now. I’m really not even sure what that even means, but how good of an EC is that as far as colleges go?</p>
<p>It’s okay, sure, but it’s not something that’ll make it seem amazing.</p>
<p>1 EC is not enough. You need to do more. </p>
<p>I’m fully aware my EC’s are sh**, but I’m not exactly trying to get into an Ivy League, my #1 choice right now is
UC Santa Cruz. My UC GPA right now is a 4.08.</p>
<p>That being said, on a scale of 1-10, what would this rank as an EC. 1 being pathetic, 10 being outstanding and mind blowing.</p>

<p>1 to 10 scales really don’t work here because extracurriculars are viewed in the context of applicant and the opportunities they had at their disposal - something like class officer may be very impressive at a small, rural high school whereas at a large magnet school where more opportunities for extracurricular involvement is available, it might not be seen as impressive.</p>
<p>Regardless, class leadership certainly isn’t pathetic. Granted, it isn’t cancer research, but it’s still leadership and it’s still important. </p>
<p>@preamble1776 Well, my school would lean slightly more towards the small rural side of things. It’s not a small school, (400 kids per class) but it is in a fairly small town (18,000 people) and is the only public high school in the town/district. The school isn’t very well funded and the town I live in is a small country town in the mountains. The only thing my school is known for having one of the top 10 car auto shop repair programs in the country. (I think we might even be top 5, but don’t quote me on that.)</p>
<p>From the graduating class of 2014 this year, we have our valedictorian going to Berkeley, our Salutatorian go to Air Force, (along with 2 other students) and 2 people are going to UCLA. About 4-5 of the top 20 are going to a JC. (Mainly because of money)</p>
<p>The last graduate that has gone to an Ivy League was from the class of 2012 and a girl went to Harvard. The last student before that to attend an Ivy League school from my high school was in 2009 somebody was accepted into Princeton.</p>
<p>For privacy reasons I won’t name my school specifically, but it is a fairly small school in comparison to the gigantic schools in the county it is in.</p>
