I will complete 2 years of Spanish by the end of this year, however I am very bad at it and it is the one class I cannot seem to get an A in. I am at a C currently and will hopefully get it up to a B by semester end. It was very challenging last year as well and I got a B-. I got As in all of my other classes. It stands the same this year, and my question is, how important would taking 2 MORE years of foreign languages be for a computer science or physics major at schools with the tier of U of Washington Seattle or UIUC? Will it be worth the GPA drop? I currently a sophomore by the way and have multiple AP and honors classes.
You need at least one more level of Spanish to be competitive for universities like UWash or UIUC. In order to improve, see if your parents can afford to send you to a COncordia Language Village this summer - it should really turn things around for you. If they can’t, try to read something in Spanish every day and/or watch TV in Spanish every day, 30MN/day would do wonders.

3 years is usually the minimum required.
