<p>Actually, when I tell people I’m going to major in music, several do know that’s hard too. </p>
<p>It probably depends on the school you go to. At some schools I’m sure music isn’t hard, but that’s because they’re not a “music school.” At a good music school, it is known to be hard.</p>

SO what. Not the first post like it on CC. I’ve written up to 10,000+ words in a long, 30-page paper for a high school class last year, just to let you know (although that paper was far better organized than my ‘essay’ on here)</p>

<p>^^^^Yeah, you can definitely major in it. You can get a BA, BM, BME, or BFA in undergrad, then can go on to get a MA or MM, and could also get a DM, DMA, or PhD in music.</p>
<p>Hobby for many people, yes. But for serious musicians who play several hours a day is who goes into it as a major.</p>
<p>Honestly, that question doesn’t make me as mad as saying it’s a nothing major. I’ve heard the “you can major in music?” question before, from a classmate at school (and I had explain it nicely, because we were in class when this person asked).</p>
