@Oracion don’t be too bummed out! If that relationship is truly meant to be, it’ll work out no matter how far away you are from each other. Just keep the communication and sparks going. You’ll be fine and you can still visit her as well. Plus if you’re still together in 2 years, you can transfer if you want.
It’s such a nice treat to constantly see your significant other after being separated for a while
@waitlisted1234 Yeh, but it’s toooo far from UCR to UCSC
and my parents don’t allow me to drive freeway…
I need to take a train or something else, it will be like 14hrs to get there…
and she doesn’t even know how to drive, and i don’t want her to drive even if she does because it’s so dangerous to drive such a long distance.
@Oracion yeah true or you can save up a couple hundred and go on a plane ride to see her. Idk how much of a price difference it would be but it would definitely be easier for you rather than sitting for a way longer amount of time
@waitlisted1234 and the point is she wants to stay in UCSC and not transfer to other UCs… so even if I get in UCI, she will not transfer after 2 yrs… so if I really want to stay with her I have to consider to transfer into UCSC either after tow yrs or Master Degree…
@waitlisted1234 are there any air ways from Riverside to Santa Cruz?
@Oracion well you don’t have to transfer to UCSC
If you truly want to be near her in 2 years you could always also apply to schools near that area. I think UCdavis is like a few hours away.
Oh actually idk about the airways
It would probably be from like San Diego to a more populated place near Santa cruz
@Oracion did you sign up for ucr orientation yet? Idk when I should…
Lol I accidentally typed uci awks.
@waitlisted1234 Yes i did, and tomorrow is the deadline for 270 bucks, I recommend you to sign up soon
and they don’t require you to purchase the 270 bucks at this time, it will be included into your total fees in September, so don’t worry about giving the extra money if you get in UCI
@Oracion oh I didn’t know that I thought we had to pay asap
Okay thanks I’ll sign up today.
Will signing today rather than an earlier date affect my chances of getting the classes I want
@Oracion I also need to sign up for math placement
the conversation on this page went from 0 to 100 real quick last night loool but hey everything happens for a reason guys! i’m sure there are better things in store for us whichever college we go to… remember it doesn’t matter where you start what matters most is where you finish (:
Ugh… Can they just release already…
I am all for the diversity but not at the expense of qualified people.
California education system is too liberal to care about its qualified people thats why it has to bring in so many qualified people from other countries.
Why does the system make it so difficult for the talented students to study science and engineering majors and then hires so many less qualified people from overseas?
Any news?
hey guys i am also on the waitlist for UCI. for UCSB i got off the waitlist just yesterday though. uci really is last to release…
@waitlisted1234 I don’t think signing up late will affect anything as long as you do it before the deadline
And I havent signed up for the Mae either, coz I still don’t know which day to take yet
@Oracion yay! Same
you need to do the Mae before your orientation tho
Okay I need your opinions.
I am going to be in the honors college at CSULB which means priority choosing classes. Plus, i live in long beach which means less gas money and also don’t have to pay for dorms. Its tuition is way lower too but UCI has always been somewhere I’ve wanted to go to! Is it a really stupid decision to attend UCI if I get accepted off the wait list as opposed to CSULB?
I think you should go to UCI if you’re fine with the extra money, mainly for the experience as well as the better education.
It’s almost June 1st…
