Last year, supposedly 80% or something like that got off the waitlist. But the year before, no one did. Before all this, people figured that the waitlist this year might look good, but at this point it’s probably not going to end well. But who knows.
according to my parents, they received an email saying the decision will be given by the end of the month, so im hoping that it doesnt go passed the June 1st deadline.
The time has come. ONE MORE DAY.

Anyone think some waitlist decisions could come out tomorrow?
I am hoping they release some but the Transfer students have until Monday to SIR. They probably will wait to see how many waited to last minute to SIR or not. This is probably why the removed the date.
Wait is ridiculous. Daughter got into UC Davis so if I’m reading thread correctly, might not come off of waitlist at UCI, since she was accepted to a UC. She is most likely going to TCU, but wanted to see if a spot might open up. I should have her come off this waitlist as it seems many are vying for spots.
Why does it seem that this was a bad year to graduate high school and apply to multiple UC’s. Seems like my grades and test scores would have allowed me to be admitted to a few UC’s last year.
i was waitlisted at UC Davis but did not accept waitlist spot.
My daughter’s goal all through high school was to be admitted to a UC. She applied to UCSB, UCLA, UCDavis, UCSD and UCI. Accepted into UCDavis only. Waitlisted at UCI. Ironic after all that and she will be going to school in Texas- TCU. But she is happy and I know it will be a great fit. Shame on the UC’s for the mess they are in and not making CA students a priority-
Shame on all the UC school for admitting students from out of state with lower stats while wailisted the students that live in CA. We need to ask for our tax dollars that was spent building their infrastructure back. They don’t even have the decency to let the students know in a timely manner instead of stringing everybody along. They are even afraid of posting the admission statistics because they know they will a big uproar coming!!! - Frustrated parent…
I applied to a few schools out of state and all of them I was accepted to and offered Scholarship money to go there. Some of the schools were public schools and they offered me scholarship money. Yet no one in CA wants me to stay in this state.

Agreed with the above. UC system is a disaster. After weighing his choices, son is now happily heading out to Colorado. We should ask California for a refund of our tax dollars to pay the out-of-state or private tuitions!
Just a heads up, I spoke with an admissions counselor from UCI when she came to our college to congratulate those admitted at a reception and she said that this year was the toughest. They are at capacity and they don’t know if they’ll admit from the wait list. I turned down my spot at UCI so hopefully it helps one of you, Good Luck!
Why they are busy making stories? This year is no different then previous years. They just messed up!
They accepted appeals over the waitlist just saying…

@mpebbles - I am with you on asking for a refund of our tax dollars from CA. @shuttlepilotND - This year was the toughest for the UC schools because they have accepted way more students from out of state than in the state and they are trying to hide the fact. At the school where my daughter graduated from, with 250 students, only 4 have been admitted to UC Irvine. By the way, 2 of them are based on athletic scholarship. Previous year they had admitted 25 students.
Called right now, the lady told me that the only way they will consider taking in students from the waitlist would be if students cancelled their SIR’s and went to UCLA or some of the other UC’s. If this happened, they would look into the waitlist again in about 3 months, she said very specifically.
