How long does AP Lit homework typically take?

I’ve heard people say over 1-2 hours, I’m just wondering what kind of homework is given that takes this long? Or is it just reading? So far all I’ve gotten is independent reading and they give us a month and a half to finish the book and write an essay

HW in any AP class is highly dependent upon the teacher. An hour seems to be the norm.

I’ve been in school for a month and all I’ve gotten was write a college essay, a vocab test and read and annotate a doll’s house

It really depends on the teacher, I think. My teacher tries not to give any homework. All we’ve done in class is take a test on How To Read Literature Like A Professor and discussed The Awakening and The Sun Also Rises.
