How many 'A's are acceptable?

I don’t want too many or the colleges might think i’m a geek, so what’s the right amount?

how about every grade? lol

There is no right amount! You should be aiming for all A’s [or higher. Sigh my school doesn’t give out A plusses] and no colleges will think you are a geek. They’ll think you are the right one for them.

There’s never too many A’s in an application.

…You guys…This was clearly a parody of the other two “acceptable” threads

You should strive for only one A, MAYBE two. Any more and colleges will think you have no life.

^^^^^ditto to that :P

If you have A’s, you’ll look like EVERY other applicant. Don’t you want to stand out?!

None- any “A” would seem far too loseriffic :D

I was thinking something like 10 F’s, 8 D’s, 6 C’s, 4 B’s, and 2 A’s.

That sound good?

hahaha…■■■■■? ;)

I’d balance it more toward the “gentleman’s C” - 4 F’s 6 D’s 12 C’s 5 B’s 3 A’s

Since there are only two A’s in “acceptable,” two A’s are correct. Any more or less make bad news for you.

I think you should make a personal bell curve for yourself. centralize around Cs for the most part. get Fs and As here and there and make sure the curve looks really nice
then you will look completely normal to all schools

^ exactly…lol. How refreshing! Someone who conforms to normal American standards. :)

More C’s = win.

(Your threads are pretty epic, btw.)

Expanding on JBV’s logic, I’d like to add that your ideal yearly transcript would look like this:

2 As
1 B
2 Cs
2 Es (or Fs)

If you’ll notice, there are exactly 7 letter grades; the 8th subject is reserved for lunch. Taking all those letters out of ‘acceptable’, you are left with ‘ptl’, which happens to stand for ‘pushing the limit’ (which is why any more or less would be bad news, as JBV said).

^estoy confudido

None. I hear Harvard’s accepting more failures this year. [AKA 0.0-ers]

I would like to experiment with making fun words on my transcript and saying them aloud.

i.e.

ABABABA

ABACBAC

DABEEEE

CACAAAA

etc.

No single A is acceptable. Except in something like Health or ComApp :D
