How many SAT Subject Tests did you do?

Hi there -

I’m a Year 11 student from Sydney, and have been working very hard towards going to uni over in the US. I know the whole system like the back of my hand after much research, and have planned to do my SAT I’s in June (on that note, for any Aussie’s reading this, when did you do yours?).
I’m planning on doing my SAT II’s in December, and the recommended number varies from 2-3 between the schools I’m interested in (Penn, Georgetown, NYU, etc.).
Just curious - how many did you do? I plan on doing 2 because it’s very hard to correlate the US curriculum into what I’ve learned here, but am just curious to know if it’s at a serious disadvantage to only do 2.

Thanks!

I did two: 710 in chemistry and 690 (ouch, I know) in math level 1. I take A levels in the subjects, but found chemistry incredibly hard because the American course covers a lot more stuff in a lot less detail.

I did chemistry first and was exhausted when I did the math. Unless you’re applying to Harvard or Princeton (or any other university that requires three), you’re better off studying your socks off for two and acing them, rather than spreading yourself more thinly. But it’s really up to you. For all I know, you have better time management skills and stamina than I do! :p

Taking just two didn’t hurt me too much, I don’t think… I’ve gotten into Northwestern and Johns Hopkins so far, and I’m still waiting for Tufts, Stanford and Columbia. If it’s any help, I took my SAT I the summer before applying (June) and my SAT IIs in November. Good luck! :D

I gave 3 in one sitting, Math II Physics and Chemistry. Maths:740 Physics:800 Chem:800

I did Math I, Math II and Physics (780, 800 and 800) in November and I did World History and Chemistry (770 and 780) in December. I think June is a good time to start taking the SAT’s. I started with the SAT I in October myself and I felt that I did not have enough time to retake the tests if I wanted or needed to.

I did Biology (600), Spanish (630) and Literature (650)
