Ok…so normally in India, we all know that most of the students get a degree in engineering after 4 years. But it seems that only some 50% of the students get their degree after 4 years in US. If you are an international freshman and do not have any credits to transfer, how long will it take to obtain an engineering degree? Because another year means more fees. So could anyone please give some input or experiences regarding this?

Sanjay, most people I know have been able to finish their program in 4 years. I think it is just a question of making sure you finish your requisites the freshman year. Also the coursework is designed in such a way that if one is regular and taking a full load per semester and also being sincere with attendance and assignments, 4 years should not be an issue. In fact it has been known to happen, that if you maintain the max credits per semester, it is likely that you may be able to graduate one semester earlier.

Thanks for replying!
