I’m going to JUNIOR prom, with a FRIEND, that’s not even at my school, so I really don’t want to pay that much. How much will it cost to get all the basics?

Thanks

go to a thrift store for a dress shirt and a tie. go to macy’s sales rack for slacks. ask your dad for shoes. and the suit, burlington? don’t go to men’s warehouse unless you wanna throw $ down the drain.

it’s way cheap for a guy because girls are stupid enough to buy $xxx dresses lol.

A lot more than it does for the girl.

Ahem. I take major offense to that. We are not “stupid” because we buy dresses that cost three figures - that’s simply the price range of most desirable dresses. “Stupid” would be buying dresses that are $500+ when you can get something similar for half the price.

Also, your statement makes no logical sense. How are girls buying expensive dresses the cause of prom being cheap for a guy?

Rent your tuxedos.

I like how only one person actually answered the question

Prom is usually about $150- $300 Dollars, depending on what you get.

Also, there is the debate on getting a Suit or a Tux. A Tux looks cooler and more fitting for a Prom, while a Suit can make you look as if you are on a business trip. However, chances are you’re going to take off your suit or tux jacket and just wear your Vest which I highly recommend getting… (I bought one for $30 at Sears for my Prom since Men’s Warehouse wanted the EXACT same one for $60)

Slacks are about 40 dollars, Dress shoes are also about 40. A tie can be 15 or 10 dollars, and since you are only bringing a friend, you don’t need a boutonniere, but it would be really nice if you bought her one [price range is $2-$25]. I went stag last year so I didn’t have to worry about that ;D

Even if you don’t spend a lot of money for Prom, you can STILL look fresh. Have fun and enjoy yourself. Don’t let the cost of this crap discourage you
