How much does your teenage son talk to you?

My cell phone rang at 12:30 am last night. When I saw that it was my S (college sophomore 10 hours away who hasn’t called much at all this entire year), I thought, “Oh no, I’ll bet he’s in the hospital. No wait, I’ll bet it’s worse. He’s calling to tell me he’s flunking out,” While trying to wake up enough to figure out where the talk button was on the phone. I answer, he sounds fine - casual even - and proceeds to just chat about things (and ask for laundry money). After about 45 minutes (so now it’s after 1:00 am), he says, “Oh wow - I just noticed the time. I forgot that not everyone stays up until 2:00.” LOL.

seiclan - I’ve been there before. Communication breaks down, technology doesn’t track him down, and pretty soon I’m imagining all sorts of terrible things.

PinotNoir, I love it!

Wow, Pinot, he called to chat? Great story.!

bopambo - yes, the boys do seem to live in the moment, that is a great way to put it.
I heard that their brains aren’t fully mature until about 25 yrs. old!
