<p>Your parents are abusive and controlling. If you can, wait it out. Then get a job, move out, and have the last laugh. Seriously consider a lock box in the mean time. Keep all valuable items and money away from them. </p>
<p>My parents are also abusive. They said the “my house, my rules” thing, too. You can’t force people to be rational, I’m afraid. People use that excuse when they want to own their children like property.</p>
<p>You are already very mature and way ahead of others who will be stuck around their abusive parents until they die.</p>
