I think you guys are mean.

Mean, but right.

You are a failure. Buy a used Volvo now.

Serious Face: Seriously? You are fine.

You know, it really sucks that good students lose the right to stress about their studies in front of people just because everyone else is worse. They have higher standards – for them a 92 is as bad as an 82 would be to you.

if I was an admission officer I would never take in 100+ GPA. Sure your book smart but can you think and analyze.

BTW, how can you get your GPA to be so high…mine is only like 3.0+. Lol

it’s ok for a 92 or 93 to be below what your own standards, but is the OP ignorant or is she not aware that a 93 is a perfectly fine grade for essentially any college.

Yeah maybe the OP is ignorant. Not everyone has been on CC for almost 2000 posts. If I didn’t know anything about college admissions, and just knew what my parents and guidance counselor and teachers told me, I bet I’d be the same way.

And SteslaS, I definitely hope you’re kidding. You would never take in a 100+ GPA? Doing well in high school classes are more about thinking and analyzing than memorizing. Even something that on the surface seems all about memorizing, such as history, is really about thinking about what happened properly. The smartest people in the entire country (meaning they can REALLY think and analyze, definitely a lot better than you), probably would have 100+ GPA. You’re telling me that if you were an admissions officer, you would never take them in? Good thing you’ll never be one.

No, correction to all: Ivy Leagues only take people who have 105% and above. Community colleges are happy to take the people who don’t quite fit that standard.

we are all in a rat race!!!

you can get in the 90s? you must be so dumb. all CCers get in the 120s at least

With those kind of grades, even community college is a reach.
Sorry.

I don’t think they’re ignorant- I think they’re a ■■■■■.

I hate people like you, stop complaining, anything over 90 is good. I have a 65 in chem.

don’t get crazy. Most of my friends are in a similar position, in honors chem, in fact. They are all getting crazy! Don’t worry about it. It really doesn’t matter.

**Umm…

Sorry. I didn’t think a question like this would cause so much anger. I kind of got antsy reading these replies because none of them really answered my question; people just kind of mocked me. Really, I’m not a ■■■■■… =/

By “good” colleges, I was wondering about the Ivy-league. I felt like this question was justified enough because it seems like getting a “B” would affect one’s chances of getting into an Ivy-League school.

I’m sorry I don’t know so much about college. My parents didn’t go to college, so I can’t ask them any questions, and I don’t bother to ask my guidance counselor or teachers anything about college because it makes me sound pretentious. I just thought that asking online would be the best thing because it’s anonymous here.

I didn’t mean to sound condescending. I’m so sorry. **

Let’s hope she gets crazy and will be plagued with a nervous breakdown, thus robbing her of the little intelligence she already has.

Seriously, the year isn’t over yet. Think about your overall average instead of focusing on this particular term.

Or, you can go cut yourself in a corner.

yea they look at your transcript holistically and probably expect a B+ in classes like high level chem or calc.
worry more about bringing your SATs up or take the ACTs.
and you should destress over a 92. its fine. ive never had an A in math :-/ no biggy

from what i’ve seen, your sats need more work than your gpa. a B in one class won’t kill you.

You could have a 93 overall average with fantastic EC’s and test scores and get into Yale. You’re fine. I thought my world was collapsing when I get a 65 first quarter of freshman Math 2H. I got 95 or above the rest of the quarters and wound up with a 90.

Wow, there sure are a lot of people with huge egos looking to start a fight. No need to flame.
