How rare is it for an international applicant to be accepted at UVA?

With a nice little handwritten note?

The international admissions dean takes his time to write notes, which is really, really nice of him. Great guy.

I was accepted :)

hey any international students heard about scholarships yet?

UVA doesn’t grant scholarships to international students. When you applied, you had to submit a form stating that you could afford to pay for your 4 years of schooling at UVA and show where the money would come from (i.e. a bank statement).

so all international acceptees get a hand written note? aw I feel less special.

@paulaturcotte- but the school of engg does award some half tuition scholarships to int freshmen. which school did u apply to?

There are grants you can apply for, so it’s not the end of the road. A few grants here and there will get you good aid.

Also, I don’t think the dean would write a personal note on each of the few hundred admission letters if he really did not care.
