how should i balance this?

just a preface, this will not go on my college app.

well i’m a senior. This year, we have starting a serious mock trial team and my law teacher wants me to be captain. THe problem is that the team only meets on Wednesdays. As my basketball team is really intense this year and as we have practices/games literary every single day until Christmas i won’t have the time. But fortunately, the mock trial team won’t do a lot before the Christmas break- only hold tryouts, and i probably have the time after the break. How should i break it to my teacher so i can be on the team and make her sympathize with my commitment issue?

Just explain to her your situation. State your interest in being captain, but let her know about your commitment. She’ll be able to make a decision from there. Best of luck!

well i don’t even want to a captain cuz i know i will miss some meetings. But i actually wreck in debates and love to be part of the team. We are holding the mock trials in real courtrooms so that’s really cool as well. IDK, our coaches in my school hate absences. Oh well, i hope my talent is enough. =P
