Gibson shows that I am deferred. Looks like I just have even more waiting ahead of me.

The Florida guys my daughter has dated in hs are so lame we want her at tulane so so will get away from this bunch
Plus tulane is so perfect for her

I just hope that wasn’t her “Why Tulane” essay.

So sorry bandmom-- but its not over yet. Just a longer wait :(

FC - lol! “Why I want to get my MRS degree at Tulane!”

Thanks! Jym626!
Nova2nola: It dawned on me, that maybe my son approached this the wrong way, being a serious student and all. He should have raved about the HOT BABES that he saw on campus and that the ratio of boys to girls is REALLY in his favor!!! LOL
“ACCEPTED”!!! Oh, sunnyflagirl, what’s your daughter’s name? … Son wants to know… Just askin!..LOL

Deferred…it’s DD’s first response so she is ****ED!!! LOL…I, on the other hand, am scared!

Hey, maybe that is the demonstrated INTEREST they were looking for!!! LOL

(Just to clarify, he wasn’t accepted. That was just saying if he had written about hot babes… He would see the word “accepted”) joke

Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting.

If we haven’t heard back yet (12/15), should we assume that we’re deferred?

Depends. Tulane said that for people getting their EA/SCEA applications in during the extended deadline (11/16-11/26) the decisions could come between now and Christmas, give or take. Otherwise, if you got your app in 11/15 or earlier, then probably you are correct, although I bet there will be some exceptions.

If I applied on like 11//8 but the app wasn’t completed until around the 24th, which camp do I fall in?

Probably the latter, but I am not sure.

So sorry to hear about the deferrals - but there is still hope if you are willing to wait it out. My son just got a deferral from UMich - he doesn’t seem to care - he is Tulane bound. Other acceptances make rejections or deferrals easier. Good luck to those still hanging in there…

Cheer and anyone else deferred that really wanted TU, I am very sad for you. I know this is what you have been waiting for. I hope you get GREAT 1st semester grades and end up accepted! Please keep us posted on what’s going on w/other choices.

On another note, yesterday I was reading about students listing what their other college choices were- Didn’t they ask that on the ACT form? Would colleges get that info?

Also, I am NOT complaining. The joy of being accepted has not eve begun to wear off for my DD but I am waiting (im)patiently for the letter. It has been 10 days. Shouldn’t we have gotten it by now? I am not going to ask for opinions on merit because, as we have seen, there isn’t any rhyme or reason. ( 3 students from her class got deferred- 1 better stats 2 about the same- impossible to compare so she is actually more excited now than before even. It’s the only school she really wants to go to.)

Good luck to anyone that hasn’t heard yet

It took us almost two weeks to get our letter. It was as bad as waiting to hear if my kid was accepted!

Does anyone know if the admissions office is open today? Saturday?

Sorry to hear of the deferrals. My D’s status was changed on Gibson to deferred this morning, then letter came later in post. She is deflated, but she has already gotten in to several other good schools (w/ merit $) so we are focusing on the positive!

What’s the earliest deferred students will hear?
