How strict is wm about mid-year grades?

My IB Higher Level Biology grade is not looking pretty. Granted, it is the hardest course at my school, but still.

About how much leeway does admissions give for senior suckiness?

Your GPA for midyear should really be about the same that it is on your transcript. One C is not going to hurt you, as long as the rest of your classes are strong. Get a D, and you could be in some trouble, and multiple C’s would be frowned upon (assuming you previously didn’t have multiple C’s). If you have multiple C’s and you still have multiple C’s, the C’s won’t matter.

Keep in mind that if you get deferred ED, a midyear report with grades going down can’t help you at all. A midyear report could be the tipping point in a deferred applicant. I suggest you do all you can to get that Bio grade up to a B, or as close as possible.
