How to become a doctor in England after graduating high school in the States?

I would like to go to Oxford in England and study to become a neuroscientist, but I don’t know what process I have to go through. Do I choose a course at Oxford and apply to medical school a couple years later like we would do in the States?

well, a neuroscientist is not necessarily a medical doctor, although increasingly people are acquiring an MD with their PhD. That is, a physician with an MD can do neuroscience research, and a neuroscientist with a PhD can do neuroscience research.

You seem to want to be a physician, is that right? Do you want to be a physician who primarily acts in a clinical role to treat patients, or do you want to be a physician who in addition to seeing patients is engaged in neuroscience research?

Why do you want to go to England to become a doctor? Are your parents fine with paying the costs?

To learn about higher education in the UK, you should contact the closest office of The British Council http://www.britishcouncil.us/</a> or the Education Officer at the closest UK Consulate. They can help you find out what you need to know.
