Could anyone give advice on how to obtain one? I can’t find one anywhere except for the bundle packages. I called Best Buy and Circuit City and they said they didn’t know when it will be in stock and told me to call everyday. :/

Check out itracker at itracker.com. Worked for me.

Go to walmart on tuesdays… that’s when they get their shipments in (around here anyway… not sure about other parts of the country… but three different walmarts in my area get them then)

My S got his on Craigs list. I thought it might be risky but it turned out just fine.

What is itracker exactly?

If I go to Walmart, should I get there early?

Most GameStop’s have new shipments in right now. Not sure how long they will last.

Right now?! online or in stores?

All I see are the bundles

how much should it cost?

It should be $250 without the extra games

Try calling your local Target/WalMart/whatever in your area and asking. Most get their shipments at a regular time and they should be able to tell you when that is, and if the new shipments will be on the shelves when the store opens that morning.

thanks! any other advice?

My one friend went to walmart after work (5ish) on a tuesday and they had them. My sister went during the day on a different tuesday (a different walmart) and they had just gotten them and were putting them out on the shelves. She went back wednesday to buy games and all of the systems were gone… so I’d try during the day/early evening.

I don’t know if that day is the same for all walmarts though.

I walked into Target three days before Christmas and they had just put some out, so just keep trying.

You sign up for itracker and based on your zip code it tells you when shipments of whatever your looking for are going to be delivered to local stores that participate. You can get notified by email, text, etc. You will get texts, for instance, that state that “12 wii’s will be arriving at GameStop on US 1 tonight” or something to that effect. You continue to get notices until you sign in and stop them. So if you can’t make it to the first 3, you can go to the 4th one, etc.

I just checked the websites for a bunch of stores a couple of times a day and eventually got lucky and was able to order from one. The one I ended up finding it at was a regional computer store chain ( rather than a larger national chain). I don’t know if that helped.
The next week I was at Toys R Us buying a game and saw a line forming …I realized they had a shipment of wiis in and I was able to get one for a good friend who had been searching. THere’s a lot of luck involved, but I was glad that I had not given up and bought a huge bundle!

Thanks sunnyflorida! The itracker really seems beneficial!

I called walmart and target and they said that they don’t even know when the next shipment of wii’s will arrive.

I was in my local Blockbuster this morning and they had three used Wiis in boxes for $229 each. Don’t know what kind of warranty they offer but I would certainly consider buying a used system from Blockbuster.

Just wanted to share my recent Wii encounter :)

Chrismas Eve, around 4:30 pm, I’m pushing a cart full of groceries out of the Costco store passing by the returns line. A lady in the line points to a big box and asks “Does anyone want it?” I could not believe my eyes, she was returning a Wii the day before Chrismas! She was probably going to exchange it for a bag of charcoal ;)

Nintendo announced rain checks were available for getting a WII. You pay the $249 up front, and pick it up sometime in January. Try googling “wii rain check” to see if the program is still available.

We got ours at Target on a Sunday morning before Christmas. Just call and ask when they’re expecting a shipment, and how many. I found that, of all the major retailers, Target gave the most accurate information.

I called and asked 3 Targets and they all said they didn’t know and were quite mean about it :/
