How to get into a top university?

<p>I am going to be a freshman in high school this year. I was wondering which academic route I should take.</p>

<p>Route A: orchestra 4 years, 7 honors classes, 6 AP classes
Route B: no orchestra, 7 honors classes, 10 AP classes</p>

<p>route A but hopefully you did not delete any AP classes that are actually valuable and useful. </p>

<p>It depends on your other classes and extracurriculars. Colleges like to see commitment like Orchestra for 4 years, but if you can manage to get an additional 4 AP classes instead, that also seems like a good option</p>

<p>I’d go route A, especially if you enjoy orchestra. Just take the APs you’re truly interested in. </p>
